GLDS Takes Mobile Workforce Management Platform to TelcoTV 2011
WinForce tech Empowers Field Technicians to Solve Problems in the Field with Real-time Visibility and Control via Mobile Devices
Carlsbad, Calif. – Oct. 10, 2011 – Great Lakes Data Systems, Inc. (GLDS), the leading provider of billing, subscriber management and provisioning systems for small-to-medium global broadband providers, today announced plans to demonstrate its new workforce management platform WinForce techTM at the 10th annual TelcoTV 2011 Conference & Expo at the Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Oct. 25-27. TelcoTV is the only major North American event for the telecommunications industry that focuses on the emerging video services market for telcos.
At the show, in booth #455, GLDS will demonstrate how WinForce techTM, which is fully integrated with GLDS’ flagship WinCable® subscriber management and billing system, gives technicians broad control over the subscriber environment and real-time access to assigned work, as well as customer account details. Available on any smartphone, tablet, netbook, or laptop, WinForce tech is designed to give field technicians the tools they need to start solving customer problems immediately, in the field and without calling back into the office.
“With WinForce tech, operators can expect to eliminate most, if not all, calls to dispatch requesting help,” said GLDS’ President Garrick Russell. “TelcoTV attendees will see WinForce tech in action running on a tablet and experience how bringing WinCable to a handheld device allows field technicians to independently solve problems and bring front-line customer service to the field; thereby increasing operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.”
WinForce tech requires an internet connection and is not dependent on any one platform. It delivers details on all work to be performed, all subscriber relationships and house-related data and allows technicians to manage many subscriber functions that have previously required a customer to call “the office.” WinForce tech shifts a considerable amount of customer service power to the technician ― problems are solved faster, follow-on paperwork is eliminated and the technician is better able to focus on customer service.
With WinForce tech, technicians can receive, manage and finalize work; manage equipment assignments from truck to account and back again; refresh equipment individually or collectively at the account level; update subscriber, house and equipment notes; collect payments or manage auto-payments; and change Bill-to address and update contact information.
Dispatch benefits from a single screen where they can view the status of all work scheduled for that day in both table and map formats. GPS-tracking means that operators have visibility to the location of all technicians at any given time. They can see completed and remaining work, scheduled vs. actual routes and can even message technicians with work order-related information – all messaging is archived with the work order.
Additional functionality is included in WinForce tech for Android users, such as the ability to sign work orders, automatically attach them to customer accounts and email subscribers a copy. Android users can also scan equipment bar-codes, GPS navigate to the next job, receive real-time notification of work order changes and receive real-time locations tracking of all technicians with detailed history by technician.
