GLDS strikes a multi-year deal with Sweetwater Cable @CED
July 28, 2014 by Mike Robuck | Wyoming-based Sweetwater Cable TV has signed a multi-year agreement to use GLDS’ (Great Lakes Data Systems’) solutions to support its triple play services.
Great Lakes Data Systems’ WinCable is a billing and service-provisioning platform that’s used by small to medium-sized broadband service providers. It offers tools to manage FTTH, digital video, VoIP, high-speed Internet and other services.
“We’ve used the same customer management platform for more than two decades so we didn’t make the decision to trust GLDS lightly,” said Marty Carollo of Sweetwater Cable TV. “We had decades of customer relationships wrapped up in our current system but GLDS did a great job of migrating us to their platform. We’re really happy with the end result. Also, our customers truly appreciate the online services we are now able to offer, and they are taking great advantage of these products.”
Sweetwater Cable TV will use GLDS’ WinCable for enterprise billing and subscriber management, Super Controller for provisioning of triple-play services, Service Provisioning Gateway (SPG) for automated voice and data provisioning, WinCAP TVE Authorization for use with the NCTC’s WTVE platform, CableAnytime for web-based customer self-care, WinVoIP for call detail record billing, WinPay or automated payment processing, and more.
“We’re seeing an increasing number of operators shedding tier-one billing platforms in favor of more nimble, cost-effective solutions like those from GLDS,” said Garrick Russell, GLDS’ president. “We’re especially pleased that a company with the history of Sweetwater Cable TV has placed their faith in us, and we look forward to a long-lasting relationship.”
Sweetwater Cable Television Co. is an independently owned system that has been serving Green River and Rocks Springs, Wyo. since 1956.
