GLDS, Adtran behind Troy’s FTTH network @CED
October 1, 2013 by Brian Santo |Great Lakes Data Systems (GLDS) said it has integrated its WinCable subscriber management and billing system with ADTRAN’s AOE Management System and the Total Access 5000 Multi-Service Access Platform.
The combined solution is being deployed for Troy Cable, a FTTH provider operating in five cities in Alabama. Adtran’s Total Access 5000 provides gigabit access GPON technology for the solution.
Troy Cable is using the system for service delivery control of voice, video and data services directly from the billing system. GLDS’ billing system provides direct provisioning, allowing operators to manage their networks without any additional mediation or provisioning layers.
Adtran’s director of marketing Kevin Morgan said, “Adtran is very pleased to have integrated with the GLDS WinCable billing system. Automation is the key to operational efficiency and savings for our customers. Adtran developed AOE, or Advanced Operational Environment, with automation and ease of integration in mind. We look forward to exploring additional customer opportunities with GLDS.”
“Given the importance of FTTX within traditional and new video markets, and the significance of Adtran’s products and solutions in both, we understood the importance of completing this integration,” said GLDS’ President Garrick Russell.
